OSCARS 2024 Actress Stephanie Linus Emerges Chairperson Of NOSC – Actress, Stephanie Linus, has emerged the new Chairperson of the Nigerian Official Selection Committee (NOSC) for the Best International Feature Film (IFF). Linus’ appointment comes post the former Chairperson, Chineze Anyaene-Abonyi’s recent resignation and departure from the NOSC, and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (AMPAS) approval of the restructure of the NOSC as a 14 member team.
Members of the restructured NOSC include, Director of the Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) Chidia Maduekwe;
President of the Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), Victor Okhai; actress, Omotola Jalade- Ekeinde; former DGN President, Andy Amenechi; theatre artiste, Yino Koko and writer and director, Izu Ojukwu.
Others are, Adetokunbo ‘DJ Tee’ Odubawo; film producer, Emem Isong; film directors, Dimeji Ajibola, John Njamah and Jude Idada; Ngozi Okafor, and actress Meg Otanwa.
The committee takes on the responsibility of collecting, screening, reviewing and voting on entries that represent Nigeria in the best International Feature Film category, which the Academy awards the best feature length film outside of the United States, with 50 per cent or more of non-English dialogue.
Other criteria for submissions in this category are accurate subtitles, camera work, theatrical releases among others.
