Nasims Reverse Changed Status To Beneficiaries – You may recall that the management of Npower Nasims performed an update on the Nasims self-service portal a few weeks ago, and as a result, some of the beneficiaries’ information on the portal was updated. Beneficiaries’ status shifted from Beneficiary to Applicant.
Nasims stated today, August 18, 2023, that the N-power batch C beneficiaries’ status on the npower program has been restored back to “BENEFICIARY” following the update. Beneficiaries can now access the Nasims site to check their current status.
Furthermore, Dr. Betta Edu has been appointed as Minister in charge of the Npower program, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, and poverty alleviation. With this new development, we hope that management will re-energize the Npower program to its former grandeur and, perhaps, clear the beneficiaries’ 8-month unpaid stipends.
The National Economic Council (NEC) met in Abuja on Thursday, August 17, 2023, and received progress reports on the ongoing nationwide distribution of rice, grains, fertilizer, and other items to states, as well as N5 billion in financial support from the Federal Government, and commended the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) for their interventions.
Following that, the Council recognized different actions by state governments and asked them to increase the distribution of palliatives in order to alleviate the suffering of residents, particularly disadvantaged populations.
