Di Maria sets date to stop playing for Argentina
Argentina winger, Ángel Di María has revealed that next year’s Copa América will be the last time he will represent his country. “With all the pain in my soul and feeling a lump in my throat, I say goodbye to the most beautiful thing that happened to me in my career,” Di Maria said.
This comes days after he was seen in a video appearing to spit at Brazil fans.
Brazil and Argentina were involved in a heated fixture at the Maracana on Wednesday which was blighted by crowd trouble and heavy-handed policing.
And a shocking new video has now surfaced showing Argentina players in an acrimonious exchange with home fans.
In the video, Argentina players could be seen heading down the tunnel after the game was delayed as violence erupted in the stands.
Captain Lionel Messi was leading his countrymen back into the dressing room. However, tempers flared after players were showered with beer poured from the crowd.
