Jose Peseiro refuses to deny applying for Zamalek job – Coach of the Nigerian senior national team, Jose Peseiro has said that this is not the time to talk
about his job application with Zamalek of Egypt.
The Portuguese did not deny reports flying about, linking him with the vacant position at the Egyptian club.
An official of Zamalek revealed at the weekend that Peseiro is in talks with the board of the African top side over taking over as their manager.
Zamalek’s managerial position was made vacant following the departure of Colombian coach Juan Carlos Osorio.
The 63-year-old has led the Super Eagles to two straight draws in the 2026 World Cup qualification series.
Under his watch, Super Eagles have recorded two draws against two lowly rated sides, Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
Peseiro was asked to respond to the reports linking him with Zamalek, he told Elwatan Sport, “This is not the appropriate time to talk about all these
matters.
“I do not wish to make any comments at the present time, and I also refuse to talk about these matters specifically at this time, and I will respond at the time I deem appropriate for that.”
